Mind and body, this duality is an old-time question of philosophy and psychology. How the brain which is a material thing is capable of producing the mind which is fundamentally not a material thing. And how a mental state can produce physical actions? For example how an idea can produce action and how a sight creates a feeling, emotion? How all these create the subjective world?

We are sure the mind and body are not the same things, but how can one create the other? What is the relationship between them?

I believe the answer to the mind and body question is the relationship between the physical things and the information on those physical things. The brain is a physical staff; the mental state is the information on that staff representing the inner or outer world. The body is the physical stuff; the mind is the structure of that physical stuff, the information on it.

The mind and body, the mental state and the physical brain ultimately connected yet different entities. The mind is the information that exists on a physical substance the way of its structure.

The representation of the mental state and the material brain can be easily seen in a computer system. The physical stuff of the computer is the body and the information in that computer body is the mind. How we produce a mental state in the computer system? We put the information to it from the inner or outer world. And how a mental state produces action in the computer system? The information represented on the computer system capable of switching valves, turn on or off motors connected to it.

Of course, we must stop the similarity between the real brain and its mental state and a computer system here, but still a good metaphor to point to the essence.

From this point of view, the body is replaceable. The mind can be preserved or transferred to a different body. Only need to recreate the correct information, what that mental state represents. But even if the mind transferable still need a body to transfer to, to realize the transfer. So the mind and body ultimately connected, yet means different.
